A Government That Has Crossed the Line — Today, War Was Declared on Our Faith

The remarks made today by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his unofficial spouse Anna Hakobyan are nothing short of a declaration of war against the Armenian Apostolic Church. Vulgar, offensive, and absolutely unacceptable — these statements are an attack not just on the clergy, but on every believer in Armenia.

“Keep sleeping with your uncle’s wife,” “the Church is a closet for maniacs,” “the country’s top pedophiles” — these are not just outbursts. They are attempts to dismantle the spiritual foundation of our nation.

Behind the mask of liberalism, they resort to street-level rhetoric to destroy what has united Armenians for centuries: our faith and our Church. Who are they to insult the Catholicos, demean our clergy, and equate the Church with corruption and perversion?

Anna Hakobyan, holding no official office, arrogantly lashes out at the Church with sarcasm and hatred. The people of Armenia must ask themselves: Will we remain silent witnesses to this decay of power, or will we say: “Enough is enough”?

This is no longer about political rivalry — it’s a fight for the soul of the Armenian nation. If the Church remains silent today, tomorrow may be too late. Silence now is complicity in the desecration of our faith.
