A trial must be held in Armenia, and only then should the possibility of exchanging the Azerbaijani national for Armenian prisoners of war be discussed: Abrahamyan.

"At the official level, the authorities are downplaying and concealing a dangerous incident in Sisian involving an Azerbaijani national, while simultaneously using unofficial channels to target the Armenian woman who defended her family—all because they have already decided to hand the Azerbaijani over to Baku.
This is not a case of an accidental border crossing; the consequences—including gunshot wounds, bodily injuries, and psychological trauma inflicted upon civilians and minors—make that clear.
It is too early to speak of the Azerbaijani’s true motives and objectives, yet the existing facts provide compelling grounds for not simply handing him over to Baku.
A trial must be held in Armenia to provide a legal assessment of the incident, and only then should the possibility of exchanging him for Armenian captives held in Azerbaijan be considered," he noted.
