Avinyan deceived us: Vardashen residents no longer have hope that they will one day live in a decent apartment

Residents of Vardashen dormitories regularly hold protests in front of the RA Government and Yerevan Municipality, demanding that they be evacuated from the dilapidated buildings. Sputnik Armenia's film crew got acquainted with the condition of the buildings and living conditions on site.

At the entrance to the dormitory building at 68 Vardashen Street, it becomes clear that living in this building is, to put it mildly, difficult. The humidity and the smell of sewage in this summer heat are simply unbearable. The entrances have no doors at all, the staircases are crumbling, and there are no railings at all.

The residents of buildings 68 and 66/1 on Vardashen 6th Street have been living in unbearable sanitary conditions for years, with cracked walls and humidity, surrounded by snakes and scorpions. They are no longer able to decide who to point out the problem to: there are countless of them.

The bathroom in these buildings is shared by one floor, and it is in such a state that even walking past it is a great "heroism." 30 families use the same bathroom, often standing in line to use it.
