The newspaper "Past" writes: An internal investigation may soon begin in the "Civil Contract" party due to the results of the first round of voting for the formation of the electoral list. According to "Past", the proposal to start an investigation was made when a number of CP members, especially deputies, expressed doubts about the strangely high votes received by some candidates.
In particular, many CP members were surprised by the number of votes received by Sergey Bagratyan, a deputy registered in the Vayots Dzor territorial organization. The latter received 298 votes in favor, surpassing a number of well-known and active deputies (and not only deputies, but also "old-timers" of the CP), although, as our CP source notes, he does not have the authority in the party to receive so many votes.
According to our information, they say in the CP that a rather remarkable mechanism has been operating: a number of territorial organizations have agreed with each other and exchanged lists. As a result, a number of CP deputies have been quite “left behind” in the list, while a number of representatives of regional structures have settled in quite high places, in some cases even in the top fifty.
For example, Aragatsotn Deputy Governor Milada Hovhannisyan, Araksya Vardanyan from the CP youth organization, Hayk Avagyan from Vayots Dzor, etc. received high votes. Although the CP tends to “pass by in silence” about this phenomenon, according to our information, there is an internal demand to find and punish all those responsible for it. Moreover, some have even threatened to publish the names of the organizers by name or “sleeve”.
