Suren Surenyants, the chairman of the Democratic Alternative party, made a statement.
“Recently, Gagik Tsarukyan presented to the public the preface to the “Proposal to Armenia” initiative.
This is a turning point in our political life: for the first time, a broad political and public coalition is being formed that is built not around positions and personnel, but around an idea and a program.
This new approach could become an important turning point in the national political culture.
The challenges facing Armenia are too profound to be faced solely through the logic of government-opposition confrontation.
We need an alternative:
● an alternative to the division that has weakened our statehood for decades,
● an alternative to wrong laws and decisions that poison the public environment,
● an alternative to the peace model that is based on irresponsible decisions and unilateral concessions,
● and finally, an alternative to the security policy that has left Armenia without reliable allies.
Through the "Proposal to Armenia" program, an attempt is being made to shape a national agenda that is aimed not at patching up existing problems, but at their deep-rooted solutions.
This is an offer to the public to participate not only in the discussion of the program, but also in real joint work.
As the leader of the Democratic Alternative party, I welcome this initiative and declare our willingness to participate.
We emphasize that team formation is based on meritocracy, professional abilities, and ideological conviction.
Only in this way can a real, not a formal, alternative be created.
Today, Armenia needs an election:
● not between old mistakes and new dangers,
● in favor of another clearly articulated and viable alternative,” the statement said.
