People". The anti-corruption body was not given to the opposition. Nikol Pashinyan lied. part 186
"Zhoghovurd" daily writes: "On April 15, 2018, Nikol Pashinyan announced during a rally held in Yerevan's France Square. "A universal anti-corruption body should be formed in Armenia, whose head can be nominated only by the opposition."
This promise turned out to be a complete lie. Zhoghovurd daily investigated the situation and records that on March 24, 2021, "the National Assembly adopted a law on the anti-corruption committee." The law did not specify that the opposition should nominate a candidate for the position of the head of the committee. The law was adopted only with 80 votes in favor, 38 against, and 2 abstentions.
Then on 16.08.2021 3 candidates were nominated for the post of anti-corruption committee chairman: Sasun Mheri Khachatryan, Garnik Artushi Torosyan and Davit Rubeni Mkrtumyan. About a month later, on 10.09.2021. the competition council for the candidates of the anti-corruption committee declared all 3 candidates as winners and sent them to the government.
Government: 16.09.2021 by decision, Sasun Khachatryan, head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, was appointed as the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee.
In other words, the promise that only the opposition can nominate the head of the anti-corruption body was not fulfilled and Nikol Pashinyan again deceived the citizens of Armenia."
