There will be no miracle on New Year's Eve if we are not ready to perform a miracle. Father Yesayi Artenyan

The streets have been decorated, the lights of the main Christmas tree of the Republic have been lit, there is no place to stand in the shops. There is a pre-holiday bustle in Armenia. We are preparing to say goodbye to the old and welcome the new, but is the New Year only about feasting, remembering our dreams, or how can we keep the light within us bright along with the street lights, writes qahana.am . We have forgotten about the important thing again… In anticipation of a miracle, a “new” life . Days later we will hear the same wishes and toasts again. The holidays will pass, we will forget everything, but we will remember them again when we welcome the new year next year, again with “new” hopes. It’s like that every year. What new thing do we keep talking about? We use the word new without giving it serious content. Aren’t we tired of our “new”? asks Father Yesayi Artenyan.
"And one day we will understand that our lives do not change with the change of numbers on the calendar. Our lives can change what is truly "new". In reality, the new that you are looking for is you, it is within you, change your outlook, your course, and you will discover the real new that we all need."
At the end of the year, we try to summarize our achievements, failures, and make new plans to move forward. The clergyman reminds us that it is very important how we look forward.
"If we look at our past lives, our achievements, and our failures in the light of the mystery of eternity, there is an opportunity for us to start anew, to be enlightened. If we are guided by the logic of this world, that which is new is not new. The most important condition is to live by the mystery of the birth of Christ. To be strengthened by that mystery, to be strengthened in our faith, to prepare for the birth of Christ. With this, everything can become new in our lives."
Many people believe that the better (luxurious) we welcome the year, the better it will be for us during the 365 days. The priest reminds us that neither the years nor the signs of the zodiac can change our lives, that "new" is within us.
"There will be no miracle on January 1st if we are not ready to perform a miracle."
The rhythm of eternity
What is the mission of a Christian's life? Our goal is to deserve salvation. We come into the world to deserve eternity. It means that our life must have meaning. "If we live simply for the sake of life, it means that our life is meaningless, if we live for the sake of eternity, for the glory of God, our life becomes meaningful. God loved us, called us to walk the path of eternity. It is with that love that we must remain strong and steadfast on that path. To maintain that love, every person must struggle," the priest notes.
In order for evil to be defeated in our lives, the most important condition is to live anew: "Do not try to live in the rhythm of this world, try to live in the rhythm of eternity. This world leads us to a crazy speed, it is not about being agile. Very often we rush, but nowhere, there is no goal, there is emptiness in that rush. There is a rush that has no content. We must stop and try to bring our course, our life together, look at the future with such a view that we live in the rhythm of eternity, and it leads us to struggle for the sake of God," advises the clergyman. The time given to us is an opportunity to change, to become better, to live a new life. The time given to us is an opportunity to discover the light and love of the Creator within us. The miracle of the New Year is to become a new person, which we must achieve through daily struggle.
