A new round of talks between Israel and Lebanon will take place on June 24. Al Arabiya reports this, citing sources.
The main focus of the parties will be on the creation of so-called experimental zones - territories that can become a model for future mechanisms for ensuring security and governance.
According to the publication, one of the key topics will also be border security, including the organization of work in the border areas of the two countries.
As Al Arabiya notes, the current round is seen as an important stage on the path from a fragile ceasefire to a more stable peaceful settlement, given the complexity of border, sovereignty and security issues, which have remained a subject of dispute for many years.
The negotiations are being held against the backdrop of agreements reached between the United States and Iran, which provide for a ceasefire in all directions, including in Lebanon. This point of the memorandum is considered one of the most controversial, due to the ongoing mutual incidents between the Israeli army and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
