"Zhoghovurd": Pashinyan recalled the Armenian ambassador to Russia: what awaits Gurgen Arsenyan?

The “Zhoghovurd” daily writes: According to the exclusive information of the “Zhoghovurd” daily, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation Gurgen Arsenyan will not continue his duties in Moscow. Nikol Pashinyan has decided to recall him, and our government sources assure us that the decision is irreversible.

It is still unclear who will replace Arsenyan; according to our information, there is not even a clear candidate at the moment.

Nikol Pashinyan is dissatisfied with Arsenyan’s work, since he will not be able to normalize the tense Armenian-Russian relations. Meanwhile, it is a fact that Pashinyan himself is unable to normalize relations with Vladimir Putin. One of the most glaring episodes of this is that the Russian President did not even congratulate Pashinyan after the parliamentary elections.

The “Zhoghovurd” daily tried to get an official explanation regarding Arsenyan’s recall. The Foreign Ministry informed us that the issue is not within their jurisdiction, directing us to contact the Presidential Administration. The presidential office suggested that we address the question to the government. The prime minister’s spokesman did not officially answer our question throughout the day yesterday.

However, in the official “circumvention”, our government sources claim that Gurgen Arsenyan’s recall is already an irreversible reality. It remains to be understood who will be sent to Moscow and whether the change of ambassador can solve the political problem that has not been resolved even at the Pashinyan-Putin level.
