Armenia reaffirms its intention to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in Tianjin.

The President of the People's Republic of China welcomed the visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and his participation in the SCO+ format meeting of the SCO Summit. Xi Jinping valued the centuries-old friendly relations between the two countries and added that bilateral cooperation is experiencing steady development.

Following the meeting, the parties announced that a strategic partnership is being established between Armenia and China, and a joint statement was adopted.

Nikol Pashinyan reaffirmed Armenia's desire to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. An agreement was reached to deepen cooperation within the SCO framework.
