"Fact" daily writes: "On the initiative of the leader of the "Armenian Crusader Liberation Movement" public movement Artur Asatryan, an exhibition of the history of Armenian fine arts was opened in Moscow's Armenian "Tapan" museum, which will last half a year. According to the organizer, the creation of the project required 30 years of careful and consistent work by a group of researchers, historians, restorers and artists from different nations. The main message of the exhibition is to turn to the great examples of the past, which should inspire the present and future generations of the Armenian people. We are talking about the kings of Armenia, who embody the historical path of the Armenian people.
"From ancient times until the decline of Armenian statehood in the 14th century, the country was ruled by 6 royal dynasties. At different times, Armenian rulers held different titles, from "King to King" to "Satraps". Unfortunately, only the portraits of some of them have been preserved. In addition, the portraits of All Armenian Catholicos have not been preserved. I consider it my duty to preserve the memory of the people's leaders, their way of life, political and cultural heritage," Artur Asatryan reminded.
According to him, the idea of restoring the portraits of state figures who played an important role in the history of the Armenian people arose in the 1990s, when controversial values began to spread in the post-Soviet countries. The goal was one, to prevent the growing generation from being separated from their roots and forgetting the names and faces of prominent figures in Armenian history. It is for this purpose that this project was launched: to create a true monument to the heroic past of the Armenian people. During the last 30 years, a lot of research work has been done, documents from the archives of many countries have been studied, from the Vatican to Yerevan. Based on these data, the portraits of 50 kings and 132 Catholicos have been restored today. 109 large canvases were created, on which the important events of Armenian history are depicted.
"The destination of this entire collection should be the new museum complex in the city of Etchmiadzin. But for me, it is symbolic that the first full exhibition of "Rebirth" is taking place in the "Ark" museum, within the walls of the Armenian Apostolic Church, which has preserved the identity and faith of the Armenian people for centuries," Artur Asatryan said in a conversation with "Past". :
