How long have these authorities been saying that pensioners don’t know how to spend 10,000 drams? It turned out that if there are elections ahead, they know how to spend well, and they decided to increase pensions by an average of 8,000 drams from April 1. This was stated by Ashot Markosyan, a member of the “Strong Armenia” party.

“Dear pensioners, let me tell you something, know that since 2018 prices have risen so much that if we calculate with the official inflation rate in Armenia, your pensions are almost at the same level as in 2018.

In other words, you can buy as many goods with your pension as in 2018. So, don’t present the increase in pensions as a favor to people, you have simply increased the difference in price increases.

"Let me say one more thing: know, dear pensioners, that the cashback program, which used to charge you money back on your card from your purchases, has been extended until the end of 2026," he noted.
