The Implications of Extending Samvel Karapetyan's House Arrest on Political Processes

Simply, a preventive measure of such intensity cannot be applied within the limits of legality. The fact that these criminal proceedings should be terminated is obvious. These criminal proceedings are not primitive political persecution, this petition no longer concerns the equality, justice or disruption of political processes in Armenia. "The period for which they are asking to extend house arrest is a direct interference in political processes," he noted.
