Whose side are you on, CSTO or Armenia? Mirzoyan to Rustamyan
Today, on March 15, Foreign Affairs Minister Ararat Mirzoyan is also participating in the session of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations.
Armen Rustamyan, deputy of the Armenia faction, asked him about the fact that the National Assembly approved a program where one thing is written and you do something completely different, or exactly the opposite.
"How would you comment on the CSTO, because the CSTO is considered there as the most important link of the security system of Armenia and the Government will continue to be actively involved in the work of the CSTO, but in your performance you state that the activity has been frozen." Rustamyan asked.
Ararat Mirzoyan said in response to the question.
"Yes, I present the 2023 report of the 2021-2026 government program. I think that some of the partners will evaluate the performance of the program as appropriate, while some of them will evaluate it as insufficient due to political predisposition. It is axiomatic for any average country that some things cannot be accomplished no matter how hard you try.
Events have occurred that have made it impossible to do certain things. Due to the circumstances, we did not participate in CSTO as we presented in 2021 in the National Assembly. Our borders were violated, the CSTO did not react. The acceptance of the public fact that the sovereign territory of RA was violated, even the acceptance of this fact did not take place. Mr. Rustamyan, whose side are you on now, the CSTO or Armenia?" answered Ararat Mirzoyan.
"I am here on behalf of the National Assembly. In a parliamentary country, when a plan is adopted, the Government is obliged to implement that plan," answered Rustamyan.
