According to the “Zhoghovurd” daily, Romanos Petrosyan will remain the interim manager of the “Electric Networks of Armenia” company (ENA) until the summer. The reason is related to the lawsuit filed by Tashir Capital CJSC. In particular, on March 11, 2026, the company filed a lawsuit against the Government of Armenia, demanding confirmation that it has the right to sell its 70% stake in ENA by May 25, 2026 in accordance with the procedure agreed with the government. The court partially satisfied the company’s petition, temporarily recognizing the possibility of alienating that stake in accordance with the procedure agreed upon.
At the same time, the three-month period during which the sale process was to be carried out was suspended until May 25. This means that the Government of Armenia cannot take any action regarding the stake in ENA until the end of the specified period. According to the initial plan, the state was supposed to recognize the ENA as a public priority interest, acquire it in full (100% share), and then transfer it to full management. However, as a result of a court decision, this process has been temporarily halted.
It will be possible to resume the process only after May 25. It is expected that the authorities will recognize the ENA as a public priority interest, after which the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) will issue appropriate licenses for management.
This entire process, according to forecasts, may take several more months. During this time, Romanos Petrosyan will continue to manage the ENA, and at the final stage a new manager will be appointed. Here is the roadmap for the operation to seize the ENA from the Tashir company.
