The “Hraparak” newspaper writes: “This year, the Yerevan Municipality began preparing for the New Year celebrations on October 30. If in previous years they would at least start in mid-November, and in the years before that, in early December, now they have already started the New Year preparations in order to distract the public from important issues and supposedly occupy them with happy, festive thoughts.
When asked by the Yerevan Municipality how much money the city government has earmarked for New Year's expenses, they said in a conversation with us that it is around 600 million drams. They also said that this year the country's main Christmas tree will have a completely different look - with new branches and new lights. They noted that 600 million drams is a conditional number, since the procurement tender, which was announced for the New Year's celebrations, has not yet been completed. And this means that 600 million can increase significantly, and the final number will be clear after the tender is completed.
