Macron and Zelensky discussed Ukraine's air defense and energy support.
"Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure threaten to deprive millions of families of heating and electricity. France will support Ukraine in getting through the winter, and the G7 energy group will also mobilize its efforts to stand by its side," he wrote.
Furthermore, according to the French President, the signing of a contract for the supply of radars and interceptor missiles will strengthen Ukraine's air defense.
Macron added that he had also discussed this support with US President Donald Trump. Additionally, he noted that he had discussed with his American counterpart the prospect of an energy truce and a moratorium in the Black Sea—initiatives that France supports.
"This will be a key issue in the negotiations that must resume and lead to a just and lasting peace," the French President declared. A meeting between Trump and Zelensky is also scheduled for September 22 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
