"Hraparak": Ararat Mirzoyan received votes in the CP for his neutral and balanced stance

The Hraparak newspaper writes: “Fertile ground for multipolar conversations and discontent has been created in the CP after the intra-party elections for the pre-election list. The unexpectedly high votes of Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan are being heatedly discussed in particular. He is 4th in the CP with his registered index, after Pashinyan, Suren Papikyan, and Gevorg Papoyan.

After the well-known events of the night of November 9, 2020, when he was brutally beaten, Mirzoyan did not seem to be actively engaged in party activities, and did not even submit an application for inclusion in the party’s leadership in the last board elections.

In addition, he is not involved in the aggressive propaganda of the ruling force ex officio. Therefore, in the opinion of many, this self-isolation should have left its mark on Mirzoyan and his reputation, and the ranks should have shown him his place, but the opposite happened, which will mean that even in the CP they accept and appreciate not very aggressive, non-partisan behavior.

If Pashinyan's votes are connected with a number of circumstances, first of all, the fear factor, in the case of Papoyan and Papikyan, active ties with the CP regional structures played a role, then Mirzoyan, who, one might say, has absolutely no connection with the ordinary CP members, received his votes, perhaps because he is neutral and balanced.

Although there is an opinion that they voted for him taking into account his role in the peace process.
