"Hraparak": The reason for Narek Karapetyan's controversial decision

The “Hraparak” newspaper writes: “For two days now, certain pro-Western circles have been raising a fuss about why “Strong Armenia” was elected chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on European Integration, and they are drawing far-reaching conclusions that the pro-Russian opposition specifically elected that committee to halt or hinder the process of Armenia’s integration into Europe.
It is surprising that these circles have no complaints or demands from these authorities as to why the aforementioned committee was not elected at least on the second or third attempt, if it was so supportive of moving towards Europe and faced such a threat from the opposition. It is needless to recall that during the past five years, when that committee was headed by the Communist Party of Armenia’s Arman Yeghoyan, it was literally idle and held only a handful of sessions in five years.
As for the election of "Strong Armenia", we were told that it was Narek Karapetyan's decision: he intends to use that platform to make Europe hear and see the endless chain of illegalities and anti-democratic steps taking place in Armenia, starting with the judicial and legal sphere and ending with others.
