The police officer accompanying Hayk Konjoryan's brother, Avet Konjoryan, has been dismissed from his job. The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed this in an interview with "Pastinfo", urging people to contact the Criminal Investigation Department for details.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs does not specify whether the officer was dismissed as a result of an internal investigation or not. The Criminal Investigation Department has not yet clarified what the status of the police officer is, whether criminal prosecution is being carried out against Konjoryan or not.

Let us remind you that on the night of July 24-25, after midnight, Avet Konjoryan was severely beaten near the entrance of his house. A criminal case has been initiated in the Kotayk Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia on the grounds of physical assault and hooliganism by a group of individuals. There are five defendants in the criminal case for the beating of Avet Konjoryan, including Nairi Hakobyan, a member of the Abovyan community council of elders. The latter are charged under Article 195, Part 2, Clause 5 of the Criminal Code (physical impact committed by a group of persons).

The video posted on the Internet shows how Avet Konjoryan, accompanied by a patrol officer, drives around in a car near Nairi Hakobyan’s house, shouting curses. Several reports have been submitted about that episode, demanding an assessment of not only Avet Konjoryan’s actions, but also that of the police officer. Now, a criminal case has been initiated in the Criminal Department on the grounds of hooliganism.
