The “Hraparak” newspaper writes: “These days, not only the Investigative Committee, the Prosecutor’s Office and the National Security Service, but also the State Revenue Committee are working hard, 24/7. For about a month now, employees in some departments of the State Revenue Committee have been working overtime and working until late at night. The target is the businesses owned by the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, businessman Gagik Tsarukyan.
The order from above is to detect violations at all costs, and the State Revenue Committee is diligently carrying out its entrusted part of the political persecution. They are conducting large-scale inspections, studying documents, trying to find something. By the way, Gagik Tsarukyan could not be arrested on the grounds of tax evasion. The law in such cases obliges to pay unpaid taxes without deprivation of liberty.
Perhaps that's why they are trying to pin other accusations, for example, fraud, but even lawyers, after getting acquainted with the official report of the Criminal Investigation Department, don't understand what they are accusing Tsarukyan of.
