The "3+3" format in the South Caucasus is a successful attempt to resolve regional conflicts, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said at a press conference.

"The countries of the South Caucasus should strengthen regional mechanisms for preventing trans-regional interference, and Iran is actively working in this direction. The "3+3" format is of historical importance in the South Caucasus. It was created for consultations between the countries of the region, which also include Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as states that cover the territory of the South Caucasus. This mechanism has justified itself, in particular, as a regional platform that contributes to the settlement of disputes between Azerbaijan and Armenia," he noted.
