CP MP Hayk Sargsyan today provided details of the incident between him and NA Speaker Alen Simonyan.

"Alen Simonyan applied to the Criminal Procedure Department to initiate disciplinary proceedings against me on March 4, 2024. That was the day when the package of draft laws put into circulation by me was being discussed in the National Assembly, which planned to increase the tax burden on the gambling sector twice. I saw a direct connection here as to why my colleague Alen Simonyan submitted an application to initiate disciplinary proceedings against me," he announced in a conversation with reporters.

Sargsyan did not provide any other details, only saying that he himself had applied to the Criminal Investigation Department in April to have Alen Simonyan disciplined. However, the issue was not discussed for a long time.

"It was discussed in September," he noted.

Sargsyan denied the report spread by the CP that he was invited twice, but did not show up to have his application reviewed.

"That's not true, I asked that part of the message be edited, since no one invited me," Hayk Sargsyan explained.

Let us remind you that on September 17, the Criminal Procedure Code reported that in April 2025, the Criminal Procedure Code Department, based on the application of the NA Speaker Alen Simonyan, initiated disciplinary proceedings against NA Deputy Hayk Sargsyan, as a result of which the latter was given a strict reprimand.
