Archbishop Bagrat has been charged with preparing terrorism, inciting mass unrest, and usurping power, attorney Sergey Harutyunyan told reporters, suggesting that a motion to detain the Archbishop will be filed.
The lawyer claimed that this was another political persecution.
Sergey Harutyunyan noted that no weapons or ammunition were found during the search of Bishop Bagrat's house.
"I saw one of the photos published by the Investigative Committee, where the weapon is visible, and next to it is a document about it. It is obvious that it belongs to someone who, for example, has a permit for that weapon," he noted.
