The "Fact" newspaper writes: "Vagharshapat community council elections will be held on November 16. Political forces are preparing for them quite actively. Yesterday we were already receiving various information that the ruling force started the campaign with violations.
The campaign of the "Homeland" party also launched yesterday. The party's mayoral candidate is Khachik Manukyan, who kicked off the campaign with a visit to Yerablur. Manukyan has no doubt that the government will use administrative resources in these elections. "I would like them not to use the resources of evil, not to make our people finally disappointed with all those who have assumed the reins of power in the country today. Although there is no government, they are the ones serving the interests of foreigners."
What will be Manukyan's top priorities if elected? "We need to be able to solve the social problems facing people as much as possible. We have many problems in rural communities, from the lack of agronomists and veterinarians to consultants who can create a business plan so that the villager does not suffer financial losses."
"We must support the Armenians of Artsakh, who are facing serious problems. Without ruling out our return to Artsakh, they must feel that they are in their native land."
The chairman of the "Homeland" party, Artur Vanetsyan, highly assesses the chances of their candidate. He attaches importance to the victory, but notes that his goal in the last five-six years has been one: to deprive the CP of power. "We must do this in Vagharshapat as well. On November 16, we will prove that the CP failed to seize power in Vagharshapat. We are ready to cooperate with any opposition force, but we will do everything to get the maximum votes. I am confident in our team. With these elections, the people of Vagharshapat must prove that the political force that has launched a campaign against the Church cannot get even a single vote in the spiritual capital of all Armenians," Vanetsyan said.
He emphasized that no matter how much the government tries to use administrative resources, they are sure that they will not achieve any results. "The CP party in Vagharshapat, I would say in the entire territory of Armenia, has such a low rating that even in the case of using administrative resources, it will not be able to register a victory. They can do one thing - put the law enforcement system into action, start illegal arrests, which we have been witnessing recently. But we are strong, confident in our victory."
