"Fact": What was the turnout like in the previous elections?

The newspaper “Fact” writes: “Before all national elections, and especially before these elections, it is regularly emphasized how important the participation of each voter is, both as a civic duty and as an exercise of the electoral right. One can often hear that our voters do not participate very actively in the elections. However, studies show that there have been elections in Armenia with quite active participation.
The newspaper “Fact” studied the information available on the official website of the Central Electoral Commission and compared the results of the presidential and National Assembly elections of the Republic of Armenia. These data show that voters were more active during the presidential elections, although, for example, there was also a respectable participation during the 2007 and 2012 NA elections. The most passive participation was recorded during the 2018 and 2021 snap parliamentary elections.
And so, the following participation was recorded in the RA NA elections: In 1995: 1 million 183 thousand 573 citizens or 54.3 percent of those with the right to vote, in 1999: 1 million 137 thousand 660 or 51.7 percent, in 2003: 1 million 233 thousand 757 or 52.7 percent, in 2007: 1 million 375 thousand 733 or 59.4 percent, in 2012: 1 million 572 thousand 518 or 62.33 percent, in 2018. extraordinary: 1 million 261 thousand 105 or 48.6 percent, in 2021. extraordinary: 1 million 281 thousand 174 or 49.4 percent.
Participation in the presidential elections of the Republic of Armenia by year: In 1996: 1 million 333 thousand 204 or 59.2 percent, in 1998: 1 million 456 thousand 109 or 63.3 percent, in the first phase of 2003: 1 million 462 thousand 383 or 63 percent, in the second phase of 2003: 1 million 595 thousand 702 or 68.4 percent, in 2008: 1 million 671 thousand 027 or about 70 percent, in 2013: 1 million 518 thousand 407 or 60.05 percent.
