FIFA has confirmed that it does not intend to move the 2026 World Cup final, despite the smoke haze caused by the Canadian forest fires in New York and New Jersey. This is reported by Bloomberg, as reported by championship.com.
Earlier it was reported that the final, where the Spanish and Argentine national teams are supposed to meet, could be moved, but this does not correspond to the current position of the federation.
FIFA emphasizes that if there is a threat to the health of the tournament participants, the already established protocols will be in place, which allow for an operational assessment of the situation and, if necessary, a decision to change the format of the matches.
According to the source, FIFA's position remains unchanged: there are no plans to move the 2026 World Cup final.
The Spain-Argentina match is scheduled for July 19 at the New Jersey (USA) stadium. The game starts at 23:00 Yerevan time.
