"Zhoghovurd". Head coach Yeghishe Melikyan's Maybach at the center of a major accident. There is a lawsuit

The Zhoghovurd daily writes: “On May 17, at around 10:30 p.m., five people were recognized as victims in a major car accident that occurred at the intersection of Davit Anhaght and Ulnetsi streets in Yerevan. The Mercedes-Maybach and Hongqi cars participated in the accident, and criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with this.

After the incident, the source of information shamshyan.com published information that the patrols and the investigation department have suspicions that the driver of the Mercedes Maybach was another person, but the driver introduced himself as Armen G.

The Zhoghovurd daily found out that the Mercedes-Maybach belongs to Yeghishe Melikyan, the head coach of the Armenian Football Federation, who was in the car at the time of the accident, and the car, according to circulating information, was driven by his wife.

About three months after the incident, the “Zhoghovurd” daily newspaper officially requested the Investigative Committee to find out what the investigation had revealed, in particular, who was actually driving the car.

The Investigative Committee informed us that a proper and comprehensive preliminary investigation is underway. An examination of the scene of the incident and the damaged cars was conducted, and relevant examinations were ordered, the conclusions of some of which have not yet been received. A number of people were questioned, and five people were recognized as victims.

The Investigative Committee also confirmed that the investigation is examining “the possible circumstance that another person may have posed as the driver of the “Mercedes-Maybach” vehicle at the time of the accident.”

In other words, at this point, the investigation does not yet provide a final answer as to who the actual driver of the car was.

The Investigative Committee also reported that after receiving the conclusions of the relevant examinations and comparing them with other evidence, it will be possible to give each person an appropriate criminal assessment of their actions.

At the same time, according to the Investigative Committee, no public criminal prosecution is being carried out against any person at the current stage of the preliminary investigation.

The public will address the topic when the Investigative Committee presents the conclusions of the examinations and the final results on the identity of the driver.

And until then, we turned to the head coach of the Armenian Football Federation Yeghishe Melikyan for comment to find out what he has to say about the accident involving his car.

The head coach of the Armenian national football team Yeghishe Melikyan, referring to the accident, noted that the car in question belongs to his wife, and the woman’s driver was behind the wheel.

According to Yeghishe Melikyan, neither he nor his wife drive a car, as they have personal drivers. According to him, he was not in the car at the time of the accident.

By the way, Yeghishe Melikyan is now driving around in the super-expensive car in this photo, the market value of which is more than 100 thousand US dollars.
