The daily "Hraparak" writes: For several weeks, Nikol Pashinyan has not made any statements against the Armenian Apostolic Church. The last post was his anti-Christian post dedicated to the "renewal agenda" of the Mother See, on July 23, in which he presented a plan for how he is going to remove Catholicos Karekin II from the Supreme Patriarchate by appointing a married priest as a temporary successor until the elections of a new Catholicos.

Let us recall that he promised to hold a large spiritual gathering in Etchmiadzin Square and personally lead the movement. Rumors circulated that he would implement this plan on Vardavar, July 27, the day of the liturgy, but that did not happen.

Then there were the Washington meetings, and Armenia entered a dangerous phase again, the authorities' "heads went crazy," and now they are busy presenting new anti-Armenian documents "as a victory." This is not the time for the Church.

Despite this, our sources in the government say that Pashinyan has not backed down from his views against the Church. He simply cannot find the answers to some questions, and is in a quandary, not knowing what to do.

Let's see, let's assume a large crowd gathered, although that is also doubtful, and attacked the Church, what would happen next?

The point is that if His Holiness does not voluntarily leave his throne, the political authorities are powerless in that matter.

As adventurous as Pashinyan is, he understands and knows that the only way is to psychologically wear down His Holiness so that he leaves voluntarily. By the way, Catholicos Karekin II has been in the US for several days now, the purpose of the visit has not been officially announced, and there are no details as to why he left.

Some sources report that he went for treatment due to health problems.
