"Hraparak": Samvel Babayan made a proposal to various forces

The “Hraparak” newspaper writes: “The former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Samvel Babayan, announced yesterday at the Civilnet pavilion that he is starting political cooperation with the former director of the National Security Service, leader of the “Homeland” party, Artur Vanetsyan, who may be a candidate for prime minister.

It is noteworthy that Vanetsyan's party was not aware of this cooperation yesterday. Party board member Sos Hakobyan was surprised by our question, said he was not aware, and then posted on Facebook that they welcomed Babayan's move to support their candidate for mayor of Echmiadzin, but: "We have not had any discussions beyond that."

Our sources say that Samvel Babayan has approached various political forces, offering cooperation, promising in return to mobilize the potential of the people of Artsakh in their favor.

He even held discussions with some government circles, but everyone approached his proposals cautiously, as they doubted that Babayan had the ability to mobilize the people of Artsakh.

And the Vanetsyan-Babayan collaboration has caused some people particular consternation, as Samvel Babayan once accused Vanetsyan's brother-in-law, former Artsakh Interior Minister Karen Sargsyan, of handing over the military-political leadership of Artsakh to Azerbaijan. It is difficult to say how the collaboration between these three individuals will turn out.
