The “Hraparak” newspaper writes: “US Vice President James David Vance, as is known, will visit Armenia and Azerbaijan in February. It is obvious that the main goal of the visit will be the launch of TRIPP, it is possible that an agreement will be signed on the establishment of a joint company, which will stipulate that the American side will own 74 percent of the company, and Armenia - 26 percent.
TRIPP, however, is not the only direction that will be in the center of Vance’s attention. Behind the scenes in the government, there is talk that a document may also be signed, according to which Armenia will reserve the construction of a modular nuclear power plant for the United States. This topic has been circulating on the government’s agenda for several years.
Russia has also submitted a similar application. Naturally, the decision will be political. The West and the United States consider the closure of the Metsamor nuclear power plant and the construction of modular nuclear power plants as part of their plan to push Russia out of the region.
