The “Hraparak” newspaper writes: “The behavior of Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, the leader of the Artsakh diocese, has caused indignation among the people of Artsakh. Let us remind you: he is one of 10 bishops who “accepted the religion of Nikol Pashinyan” and came out against the Patriarch. Artsakh figures are looking for ways to deprive Bishop Vrtanes of his diocesan leadership.

Let us remind you: he is one of 10 bishops who “accepted the religion of Nikol Pashinyan” and came out against the Patriarch. Artsakh figures are looking for ways to deprive Bishop Vrtanes of his diocesan leadership.

Some Artsakh residents suggested holding a protest in front of the Artsakh Diocese headquarters, but politicians and the Artsakh Diocesan Council did not welcome it. They believe that by doing so, they will continue the work started by Pashinyan, interfering in the internal affairs of the church.

The Diocesan Council, consisting of 5 chairmen, including former Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan and Minister of Culture Lernik Hovhannisyan, will appeal to His Holiness to renounce the spiritual leadership of Bishop Vrtanes and ask him to take steps. The political class also wants to meet with His Holiness with the same demand. They met with the head of the diocese 3 days ago and urged him to apologize to the people of Artsakh, which he did not do.
