"Hraparak". Will Matvienko come to Armenia?

The “Hraparak” newspaper writes: “The Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko will visit Armenia next year, probably in mid-February. The date of the visit is not yet clear, but the Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, who in recent years has “deeply participated” in the destruction of Armenian-Russian relations, is said to be making titanic efforts to ensure that Matvienko’s visit takes place.

Let us recall that Alen Simonyan once had warm personal relations with Matvienko. As a rule, female politicians who have reached the age of majority sympathize with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, like Nancy Pelosi, Matvienko and some female representatives of the European parliaments. Valentina Matvienko last paid an official visit to Armenia in November 2015. In 2019 and 2020, there were also rumors that she would visit Yerevan, but these visits never took place. 2 months ago, in October 2024, NA Speaker Alen Simonyan spoke with Matvienko by phone, and during the conversation a preliminary agreement was reached.
