In terms of weather, autumn will arrive in Armenia starting next week: Surenyan.
On September 23 and 24, the influx of tropical air masses resulted in notably high temperatures across the entire republic; indeed, the maximum daytime temperatures recorded in several regions on these days exceeded all previously observed historical highs.
As of September 24, the average daily temperature across the republic is 5–7 degrees Celsius above the climatic norm, a level considered anomalously warm. However, starting September 25, that wave of warm tropical air is gradually retreating southward and moving out of the republic's territory; during the day on September 25, air temperatures across the country will drop by approximately 2–4 degrees, while in Lori, Tavush, and Syunik—where cloud cover is also present—they will decrease by 5–7 degrees.
A further drop in temperature will occur between September 28 and 29, with air temperatures across the entire republic falling by another 4–5 degrees during that period. "On September 25 and 26, brief thunderstorms are possible only in isolated parts of the Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor regions; on September 27, dry weather will prevail across the entire country. However, in the afternoon and especially the evening of September 28, a precipitation-bearing cyclone will enter Armenia from the west, resulting in brief thunderstorms—occurring intermittently—across most regions, including Yerevan, during the evening of September 28 and throughout September 29 and 30," said Surenyan.
