Ministry of Internal Affairs releases details of tragic accident

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Rescue Service has published new photos and details of the tragic accident that occurred yesterday in the Ararat region.

On July 26, at 19:56, the Ararat regional operational management center received an alarm that a traffic accident occurred in the Aygavan settlement with a fire outbreak. One combat crew from the fire and rescue squad of the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Rescue Service left for the scene.

It turned out that on the M-2 highway, on the bridge connecting the Yeghegnavan-Aygavan settlements, cars of the Toyota, VAZ and Volkswagen brands collided, as a result of which a fire broke out in the Volkswagen car.

Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, 4 injured people were hospitalized. The fire was isolated at 20:13, extinguished at 20:20. The car caught fire, and rescuers found the bodies of 3 citizens inside the car.

Rescuers turned off the power to the cars and closed the gas cylinder valves.
