Serzh Sargsyan had a telephone conversation with Bako Sahakyan's family members on the occasion of his birthday

On the occasion of the birthday anniversary of the former President of the Republic of Artsakh, Bako Sahakyan, today, the third President of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, had a telephone conversation with members of Bako Sahakyan's family, wishing them patience and endurance.

Serzh Sargsyan expressed hope that the illegal trial being conducted in Baku against his combat comrade, who devoted the best years of his life to the Motherland for the freedom and independence of Artsakh and the security of Artsakh Armenians, and other representatives of the military-political leadership of Artsakh, will end as soon as possible, and Bako Sahakyan will return to the Motherland along with all our prisoners of war held in hostage status.

President Sargsyan assured that to this end, he and the political force he leads, the Republican Party, will continue to do everything within their capabilities to constantly raise this issue on international platforms and in Armenia, to seek ways to achieve proper human rights protection and justice, as well as to keep the families of comrades-in-arms illegally held in Baku prisons in the center of daily attention and care.
