Together with my colleague, “Armenia” faction MP Anna Grigoryan, I participated in an event dedicated to the International Day of the Missing at the H. Paronyan Theater. Garnik Danielyan, a member of the NA “Armenia” faction, wrote about this.
"It has been 5 years since the 44-day war. Many parents, sisters, and brothers living next to us spend every day waiting for a miracle. It is our duty to always be by their side, to direct our prayers for the return of our compatriots. The parents were rightly outraged by the decision to drop claims from international legal platforms. Many believed that they could create an opportunity for the return of their relatives.
Let us also note that the “Peace” agreement does not contain any clause or requirement regarding prisoners of war or missing persons. Very often, faced with the indifference and inconsistency of the authorities, the relatives of the missing are forced to find any information on their own. Meetings with the relevant authorities take place in an atmosphere of disappointment. In the National Assembly, the parents who repeatedly requested a meeting were not received by the members of the ruling party and the head of the regime.
"This kind of attitude is unacceptable. Together with my colleagues from the National Assembly's "Armenia" faction, we will continue to do everything within our capabilities so that the relatives of the missing never feel alone. We will also be consistent with the issues raised during today's meeting. We thank you for your trust, dear parents."
