The Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople was invited to Pashinyan's meeting with the Turkish community, but did not attend. An Agos correspondent asked the Prime Minister why the Patriarch was not present at Pashinyan's meeting with community representatives.
Pashinyan responded by saying that it doesn't matter that they didn't come to the meeting. "I plan to visit the patriarchate, I will definitely go to church, I will light a candle. In other words, if they didn't come, I will go, no problem," Pashinyan said.
The Agos correspondent was also interested in how much Pashinyan is going to court the "beast", whose goal is to implement the idea of the great Turan, for which the "Zangezur corridor" is needed.
Pashinyan responded by saying, "We are like a subject who is constantly being run over on the highway, who gets up, falls under a car again, gets up, falls under a car again. He doesn't understand why he keeps falling under a car. He doesn't know the traffic rules, he doesn't know that being there creates a 95% or more chance that he will fall under a car. And the reason for that is not because the car in front is a beast, but because if he stands there, he will fall under a car," he said.
Then he noted that now Turan is on everyone's mind. "Now there is one thing on everyone's mind: oh, their goal is Turan. What do they want, do they want to go through the territory of Armenia? Let them go, is that bad? We are the ones proposing. Now they want to go east to west, north to south. We say, go, what's the problem, and why shouldn't they go?"
