Father Zareh Ashuryan, spiritual pastor of the Dalari Holy Mother of God Church of the Masyatsotn Diocese, addressed the Primate of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Archbishop Mkrtich, who has been detained by the authorities for two months.

"I know that you, overcome by your modesty, did not allow me to write, but I cannot silently observe these kinds of illegalities that are happening to Your Holiness and my very zealous Priest Brothers of Your Holy Diocese."

I consider it an honor that in 2016, on the feast day of the Ghevondeants priest, together with my 12 priest brothers, I received the Holy Priestly Ordination and Ordination from the hands and blessing of Your Holiness in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. It is a great joy that you are my spiritual parent, during whose supervision I first set foot in the Vazgenian Theological Seminary in Sevan, and many students, who are today clergymen and bring their service to various dioceses of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, were formed and educated as clergymen under the paternal and caring gaze of Your Holiness.

We learned from you and you became an example for us of how to love one's homeland, church, friend, and what kind of dignity a Christian Armenian man should have in general.

I am sure that this too will pass, and many will, but your kind will remain an example for many of us.

"With filial humility and prayers, Father Zareh Ashuryan," Father Zareh wrote.
