"Zhoghovurd": Against the backdrop of Melikbekyan's resignation, a swearing argument broke out between FAF representatives and the futsal team coach

The “Zhoghovurd” daily writes: “The situation surrounding the “First Armenian Front” – the FAF and the Football Federation of Armenia – the FFA – is not calming down.

ArmLur.am learned that the coach of the national futsal team, Ruben Nazaretyan, had an argument with FAF representatives a few days ago, during which swearing was also heard. According to our information, the reason was that FAF representatives demanded the resignation of Armen Melikbekyan, the president of the Football Federation of Armenia.

The altercation took place during the 2024-2025 Armenian Futsal Premier League season, on November 25, after a match between Yerevan FC and Unisport.

The thing is that the reigning champion Yerevan suffered its first defeat in this tournament, which became the reason for the fight.

In an interview with ArmLur.am, Ruben Nazaretyan denied the information, saying that he does not curse Armenians.

"I am a person who has done a lot for this country and I do not curse Armenians, I only curse Turks. If there were Turks among them, I could definitely have cursed," he said in an interview with us.

Ruben Nazaretyan, in addition to being the head coach of the Armenian Football Federation, also coaches the Yerevan Futsal team.

"It should be recalled that Ruben Nazaretyan previously had warm relations with former FFA President Ruben Hayrapetyan, but it is noticeable that recently he seems to have sided with Armen Melikbekyan and unwaveringly supports the current FFA President."
