"Zhoghovurd": Pashinyan will "arrest" the priest, his 60-year-old wife, and the diplomat and go to a "victory mass"

The “Zhoghovurd” daily writes: “Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has already announced that he will free the Armenian Apostolic Church from the Catholicos of All Armenians, and has taken practical steps. However, in keeping with his style, neither with his face nor with his hands.

On September 16, the spiritual pastor of Hovhannavank, Father Aram, stated in an interview with Public Television that after blessing the Prime Minister's home in 2021, the Primate of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Bishop Mkrtich, who is the son of the Catholicos' sister, began to persecute him. He also said that "I participated in all the opposition demonstrations in 2021, but not by my own will, but by my superiors."

For this expression, Daniel Ioannisyan's "Union of Informed Citizens" NGO has appealed to law enforcement, attaching the interview, demanding to check the elements of coercion.

And, behold, the investigative committee began a process and put Ioannisyan in an awkward position: without informing him about the progress of the case, it began to "gather" 17 clergymen at night, including the son of the Catholicos' nephew.

The "Zhoghovurd" daily was informed that in addition to Ioannisyan, an investigator has also filed a report on this case, as a result of investigative actions, whose name is being clarified.

What is the result? Nikol Pashinyan, in order to satisfy his political demands, turned investigators, prosecutors, and in fact Ioannisyan against the clergy. The “Zhoghovurd” daily reported that the NSS entered the homes of 17 clergymen and servants to search them, simultaneously confiscating the phones of their family members, including minors, and then detaining them all. By midnight, most of the clergymen were released as witnesses, with the exception of the Primate of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, the clergyman of Mughni, the secretary of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Father Garegin, and the 60-year-old female financier of the diocese, who will most likely be detained at the sessions scheduled for tonight.

This script is already familiar: first they go in for a search, then they bring new charges. Yesterday, breaking into the church's treasury, law enforcement officers found, for example, medals, money, gasoline coupons, etc., and showed it off, trying to arouse "robber nostalgia" for the church among the public. Then they will think about who to "pin" what charges on. The money shots were obviously solving the political problem of influencing society.

The same handwriting was in the case of national philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan: at first, Pashinyan's family newspaper wrote that they were searching and arresting the philanthropist, then it turned out that there were no grounds for arrest, they were fabricating a case for hours, which the court ultimately deemed unlawful. But the philanthropist was detained.

The "Zhoghovurd" daily learned from law enforcement sources that although Father Aram did not write direct statements regarding the leader of his superior diocese, he allegedly gave a "draft" about the role of the Catholicos' sister's son and others in the diocese, what they are doing, etc.

Thus, having neutralized and beheaded the Aragatsotn diocese at the hands of Father Aram, Nikol Pashinyan will go to Oshakan next week to participate in Father Aram's liturgy. The Pashinyan cleric has already confirmed that he invited the prime minister to the liturgy so that his residents will have the opportunity to ask Pashinyan questions about the village afterwards.

In other words, there is no governor in Aragatsotn, in the person of Sergey Movsisyan, to deliver people's messages to the government; the Father is busy with the community's problems.

By the way, the weddings planned in Saghmosavank yesterday did not take place because the clergy were in the investigative office.
