Telegram post by Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan: “Yesterday’s statement by Ali Akbar Velayati, the advisor to the spiritual leader of Iran on international affairs, is a fairly clear and unambiguous signal of the Iranian side’s position on the “Trump path.”

In order to understand who is sending the signal, it should be borne in mind that the advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran on international affairs is a very high-ranking official, with whose direct participation and advice the leader, especially in sensitive issues of strategic importance, defines the “red lines” and guidelines within which the country’s Foreign Ministry and official diplomacy in general should operate.

Therefore, this signal should be approached with all seriousness and through direct and sincere dialogue, an attempt should be made to dispel the concerns of the Iranian side, since Armenian-Iranian relations are extremely important for Armenia in all aspects without exception.”
