A two-month detention order has been issued against Robert Kocharyan.

A two-month detention has been applied as a preventive measure against the second President of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan. This was reported by Marina Ohanjanyan, the spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption Committee.

“Taking into account the public interest, it is hereby informed that the Anti-Corruption Court (presided over by Judge S. Dadoyan) has fully satisfied the investigator’s petition and detention has been applied as a preventive measure against R.K.,” she reported.

It should be noted that the Anti-Corruption Court, presided over by Judge Sargis Dadoyan, has been examining since yesterday the petition submitted by the preliminary investigation body to choose detention as a preventive measure against the second President of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan. At night, Robert Kocharyan was taken to the hospital on the instructions of doctors, and the investigation continued without him.

It should be noted that Robert Kocharyan was charged with abuse of official authority, money laundering of particularly large amounts, and receiving a particularly large bribe.

Let us recall that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan instructed law enforcement officers to deprive the second President of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, and the third President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.
