Arman Tsarukyan (Armenia), the number one ranked UFC lightweight (70 kg) at the UFC 265 mixed martial arts tournament held in Doha, Qatar, commented on his victory in the octagon after defeating the number six ranked Dan Hooker (New Zealand).
"Thank you to Qatar, UFC and everyone who came to support me."
My friends are here with me, I'm also grateful to them for being with me. I have to fight for the belt. Hooker is a strong opponent, he had strong punches, I had good leg kicks, but my fight is on a different level. I will set all the records in the UFC.
"Thanks to Dan Hooker. Thanks to him, I fought this year. There is only one contender. Ilya, where are you? Just choose lightweight opponents. I have to fight for the belt. I am ready to fight in January," said Arman Tsarukyan.
The UFC lightweight champion is Georgian Ilya Topuria, representing Spain.
