Dear Yerevan residents, I can imagine how annoying all these changes are, and how much you remembered us when you were standing in those traffic jams. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced at the Yerevan Municipality's work regulation session, referring to the recent transportation changes.

He mentioned why these changes are being made and why now.

"In general, this summer season is very suitable in terms of making traffic changes: the load is not very high. The main goal of these changes is to give privileges to citizens traveling by public transport, and, yes, when we create an opportunity for buses to increase their average speed, to have a separate lane, certain problems are automatically created for cars. But we have a certain set of tools with which we can change traffic little by little, making the flow of cars continuous, without stopping," the mayor noted.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Transport Department, Vazgen Harutyunyan, reported that in the coming weeks, traffic changes on Saryan Street will begin to be implemented, which envisage organizing one-way traffic on Saryan Street from Mashtots Avenue to Baghramyan Avenue.
