The prestigious sports portal Goal has updated its ranking of the main contenders for the 2026 World Cup after the first round of matches.
The list is topped by the current world champion Argentina, who defeated Algeria by a large margin in the first round of the group stage thanks to Lionel Messi's historic hat-trick.
In second place is the current world vice-champion France, who defeated Senegal 3:1 in their opening match. The top three is completed by the England team: the "Three Lions" won a convincing victory over the Croatians in the first round (4:2).
