Iran will welcome Pashinyan's visit with great pleasure for the signing of the Armenia-Iran strategic partnership agreement: Shirgholami

Our desire and will to institutionalize the Armenian-Iranian partnership within the framework of the strategic partnership document is very serious and decisive. Khalil Shirgholami, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia, said this during a press conference.

“This has been discussed at various levels and clear statements have been made. Last week, when Honorable Mr. Nikol Pashinyan met with Honorable President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Pezeshkian, in the framework of that meeting, Mr. Pezeshkian once again emphasized the importance of this issue and the need to achieve results as soon as possible,” he noted.

The Iranian Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia emphasized that Iran is working diligently and taking steps to conclude and sign a comprehensive strategic partnership document.

“We are currently working on the text of the strategic partnership document, it is in the study and drafting stage. I hope that we will complete this stage as soon as possible and begin work on further signing. We must work to summarize and finalize this document, and the Islamic Republic of Iran will welcome with great pleasure the visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Honorable Nikol Pashinyan, where they will be able to sign this document.

With this document, I believe, a new atmosphere will be created in Armenian-Iranian relations and a new window will be opened for further cooperation in various fields: political, security, investment, economic, and defense, and clear guidelines will be given for further directions of cooperation," he noted.
