Mikael Aghajanov died

YSU Rector Armen Muradyan writes on his Facebook page. "It is with deep pain and a heavy heart that I announce the death of Mikael Aghajanov, head of the Department of Biochemistry, professor, teacher of many, senior friend....When talking about Aghajanov, it is impossible not to talk about the history of the medical university. For dozens of generations of the medical university, faculty members, graduates, his presence, the image of a doctor-scientist were exemplary. In his case, years of wisdom and youth, great experience and diligence were combined. The venerable representative of the older generation, the patriarch of medicine created a special atmosphere with his presence in the meetings of the rectorate and the Scientific Council, in various university initiatives and discussions, in the Disciplinary Commission, which he was the head of. For many, many colleagues, future doctors, his example and passion for life were contagious. Mikhail Aghajanov graduated from the medical university in 1963, six decades ago, and never lost touch with his native educational institution, educating generations, developing native medicine. The long-time head of the YSU Biochemistry Department devoted his whole life to science, particularly to the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. The long-term activity of the professor was always highly appreciated both by the university and the international scientific mind. We express our deepest condolences to the Aghajanov family, relatives and friends. Rest in peace, dear Mikhail Iosifovich."
