"My mission is to protect the church, the children of the church who have been illegally deprived of their freedom." International lawyer Robert Amsterdam arrives in Armenia

Robert Amsterdam, a leading international lawyer on political issues, has arrived in Armenia.

"My mission in Armenia is to protect the church, the children of the church, the children of Christ, who have been illegally deprived of their freedom. When people are believers, love their church and their country, like Samvel Karapetyan, but their businesses are illegally attacked and raided, then something is wrong. There is a need for dialogue between the government and the church," he said in a conversation with reporters.

Amsterdam hopes that the dialogue will take place, the accusations will be reduced, and the church will be protected as a result of that process.

"The church in Armenia is of key importance for the language, religion, and all people; it is of great importance not only for Armenian Christians, but also for all Christians around the world. All believers must protect the church in Armenia," the lawyer noted.
