My request is that you support and defend all of our citizens facing political persecution in Armenia today.

This is stated in the message sent by Gagik Tsarukyan from Kentron Penitentiary.

“I was informed that about six dozen authoritative figures from different spheres of Armenia and the Diaspora have come forward with the initiative to create the “Public Committee for the Protection of Gagik Tsarukyan”.

I thank everyone. It is difficult to describe in a few words my sincere human feelings and gratitude towards you. I can simply say that I will never forget this.

At the same time, I would also like to address you with a request, a suggestion, an exhortation: do not limit the work of this committee only to the protection of my rights. My request is that you support and defend all our citizens who are currently being politically persecuted in Armenia. That you unite your efforts to fight for the release of Armenians held in Baku. With your activities, contribute to the establishment of justice and internal solidarity in the country. The struggle for human rights and justice requires serious efforts, joint work. This is not a matter of the freedom of one or a few people. Our country must provide justice, security and protection for its citizens first within the country, in order to be able to protect them from external threats.

Your reputation, your human qualities, your principledness and joint efforts can change a lot for the better. Once again, thank you.
